If his Company had tracked down his old descendants and used them for experiments based on the curiosity about the bloodline, the genes. He had to know….
Plus, it was an interesting trail she’d follow. He wanted to see how she did.
“Depends on what you consider better,” he said. “I need to get information about a man who lived her a while back. Would be an older man if he is still alive. Richard Sanders. Trail goes at least thirty years back. Think you can do that?”
a real case like this might actually end up being a bit exciting. there’s no way to know that for sure at the moment, of course, but she’s hopeful. assuming he’s got the money to cover the upfront costs, the private investigator withdraws a document from her desk. a contract, to be exact. standard one, since she rarely gets a case that requires anything more.
not a whole lot of people try covering their tracks for the entirety of thirty years. especially not anyone that manages to come across her desk. tracking down the man & uncovering what she can about him should be an easy enough task. paper trails, digital footprints, security footage & credit card statements? all of that makes her job incredibly simple, all she’s got to do is butter up the right assholes.
“ standard contract. i require fifty percent up front, & you’ve got to cover any miscellaneous costs. as long as you understand that, then i can start immediately. “
“I’m imagine it gets old. Seen one sort of betrayal…”
He moved the pictures back towards her. She was a serious one.

He sits down. It’s her business, she can lead the questions.
